Review of M (1931) by Ernest H — 02 Jan 2009
The movie that invented the serial killer and police investigation genres. It investigates shockingly dark themes for its time period. Peter Lorre is fantastic in a part that has virtually no lines, until his big speech at the end.
Fritz Lang uses lots of innovative and interesting camera angles and such. The story is gripping, and the questions raised at the end thought-provoking.
