The archetype for the movie serial killer, police investigation, and heist. Film noir, the leitmotif in Hall of the Mountain King, the long take. The suspense and the humanity. Still amazing and suspenseful to this day.
I recommend the Criterion Edition, and if you like graphic novels, the Jon J Muth adaptation.
