Review of M (1931) by Jordan B — 08 May 2009
What an excellent film. Ahead of it's time, and all the better because of it. It was Fritz Lang's first "talkie", and apparently the film that made "talkies" respectable. The camera work is amazing, and Peter Lorre is absolutely brilliant in his chilling portrayal of a sick, sick man.
This film is great for so many reasons, but most of all because of how thrilling it is while simultaneously provoking much thought and foreshadowing Germany's history that was to come a few years later.
Simply put, this film is required viewing for all fans of film.
