Review of M (1931) by Trevor R — 08 Apr 2013
It's almost unthinkable to imagine sympathizing with a child killer without feeling unseemly, but Peter Lorre somehow makes it work. He is both entirely human, yet terribly evil. Fritz Lang uses this brilliant, central performance to create a haunting masterpiece that offers deep insight into the nature of humankind.
You'll never hear "In the Hall of the Mountain King" in the same way again.
