Review of M (1931) by Eunhae H — 23 Oct 2017
No, no, no, no critics and thespians! M has dated terribly. I love old films and those with a mysterious cutting edge but M is a step too far. Notable for some all to rare stunning scenes and a superb performance from Peter Lorre.
The film is severely marred by long drawn out discussions which at the time may have provided social commentary and insight, but they make the viewing experience now unengaging and tedious. Overlong and overrated.
