An enigmatic cinema experience like the one we had watching Empire of the Sun, Cinema Paradiso, Beautiful Life, and Green Mile. A must-see kind of flick for its serious making and direction.
I watched this before watching Norah Jones' debutante in My Blueberry Nights as an actress and it is quite a contrast seeing how superb Tang Wei's performance compared to Jones eventhough they both share a fact of filming in their very first movie.
A four stars for a personal reason, not very much my kind of movie. But again, it is a must see.
