Review of Lust, Caution (2007) by Melissa C — 23 Jan 2010
A film about an intricate charade of characters that take on a ploy naively, all believing they are part of a greater cause and yet not knowing what that cause really is. The fabrics of this film just weave together beautifully.
By far, the best i've seen all 2008. Fabulous, fabulous three dimensional story. Full of intrigue and depth not just in the plot but the characters!
And oh-my-God. Tony Leung is THE man. Playing the hard, cold typical Asian stereotypical male, so unlike so many of his previous lovelorn characters. But giving such depth to the character as the sadistic, troubled, pained and then somewhat vulnerable Mr Yee.
