Review of Lust, Caution (2007) by Tuukka P — 10 Dec 2010

Ang Lee gives us a thriller set during the Japanese invaded WWII-Shanghai. This is somrtimes referred as an erotic thriller which I found a bit misleading because although there were scenes of quite explicit sexuality there is very little eroticism in them.

Beautifully shot (and as said Lee doesn't shy away from nudity or brutal violence) and the minimal quite moody music suits the story. Somehow this still didnt quite work with the main problem being it having about 30 minutes too much material.
