Loved this movie, from the meticulous sets recreating Shanghai in the 1940's, to the impeccable costumes, from the gorgeous cinematography to the restrained performances. Yes, it is a tad long, but I could watch these scenes all day long, as the movie maintains its balance on a sword's edge, between horrifying and beautiful.
