Review of Lust and Found (2015) by Ray C — 03 Jun 2015
A really enjoyable film that shows that the British movie industry is still capable of good things.
A bit eccentric and fun to watch, the film is all set in Hong Kong and is very rich in locations that show diverse aspects of the city from beaches to busy streets buzzing to deserted back alleys to financial districts.
The characters are also all very different but sort of all fitting right, in their own ways, as they come and go in the story.
The plotline is basically a gangster story with a lot of British humour, where two normal people, a girl and a guy, get interrupted in their ONS sex adventure by the apparition of a mysterious bag of money, which of course they decide to steal.
They, of course, went way above their heads and the person they stole it from, is after them now. Only, that gangster is not the owner of the money either, he was just in charge of safekeeping, and the people he works for, now want to kill him, if he doesn't get the money back.
Lots of chasing, some fights, some sex, many funny dialogues and funny situations, and a few love stories.
While ultimately a comedy, it has some realistic and deeper moments at times. I would recommend this one if you're after a good laugh and miss how British films used to be.
