Review of Lunacy (2005) by Azuolas B — 16 Sep 2007
I had mixed expectations of this dark tale, figuring Jan had bitten off more than he could chew. Wrong - this is a well thought out depiction of the evolution of the concept of madness, as described by Foucault in 'madness and civilisation' Svankmajer manages to transform this into a world not now or then, and higlights that defining madness is always impossible.
A mad film - the dancing meat is particularly good!
