Review of Lucy (2014) by Cade H — 19 Apr 2016
Lucy seems like it should be an amazing film. The idea, a normal girl getting her body littered with a special drug that allows her to access 100% of her brain, is very cool yet not unique (Limitless).
You think that she is going to do all these cool things and there will be tons of awesome action scenes, but everything fails to live up to the hype. The story is fairly interesting to follow but things get a little crazy and her powers get way out of hand in what she can do, in my mind.
They could have taken advantage of her character more and had some really intense sequences, but it all was rather basic. ScarJo was good in her role but the rest of the cast was forgettable. Lucy could have been so much better, and while it was fun at times I wanted a little more from this one.
