Lucy is an exploration of concept, an idea of what could be possible. It's not meant to be judged by whether or not it's realistic. The movie is kind of like Limitless but with less plot...I think it shoots to be a lot more poignant than what it actually achieved.
It never inspired my empathy and I'm not entirely sure what I'm supposed to take away from it. Was there a moral of the story somewhere? There are a lot of allusions and symbolism in there but it never really settles into anything coherent.
It's a good movie if you are looking for something that doesn't require you to pay attention to every detail so if you're fooling around on your laptop this is great background.
