Review of Lucky Number Slevin (2006) by Wilson K — 10 Jan 2011
I want to like this movie. I want to believe that Hartnett can carry a film, but he can't. The characters are stereotypes of gangsters that say things that have no meaning, with dialogue that falls into the realm of cliche.
A Tarantino rough draft with less bite, and more conveniant (not to mention obvious) plot twists. Once again I fall for an ensemble cast film whose talents (with the exception of a surprisingly good Lucy Liu) are wasted.
