Review of Lucky (2017) by Andrea C — 19 Oct 2017
This is an homage to a well-respected actor, musician and human being. Knowing Harry Dean Stanton passed away just last month made it all the more poignant. I found myself tearing up several times over bittersweet recollections such as Lucky's remorse over silencing the mockingbird and the story of the little Buddhist girl's acceptance of her fate.
David Lynch gave meaningful moments to this story and his character's tortoise was an analogy of Lucky's long and seemingly (but not) uneventful life. I will watch this movie again with friends who understand the beauty of a simple and well written film like this.
We will all feel satisfied and more connected as a result.
