Review of Loving (2016) by Ryan J — 06 Feb 2017
This true story is nicely drawn, calmly directed and the performances of Edgerton and Negga are superb. Edgerton in particular manages to show so much pain without being melodramatic. The film is understated to a fault though, the pacing making this two hour film feel like three hours.
It also lacks that emotional punch which this inspiring tale should provoke. 6.0/10.
