Review of Lover (1992) by Tuan T — 19 Mar 2008
I really like this film. This film touches on a very sensitive subject of inter racial relationships and love. These two both are separately outcast but find comfort from each other. He falls in love with her, but knows that it is socially forbidden.
For her, she is so young that she doesn't understand her feelings before it was too late and he was gone forever. It is amazing and sad on how the deepest love stories have to do with forbidden love.
Love that is shunned upon sometimes are the strongest love. These two are not allowed to be together because of him a Chinese man, and her a white French girl. Maybe if there were no races, color of skin, maybe we could all be lovers.
