"The true story about the most famous porn star of all time".

Movie Review: Lovelace.

Date Viewed: August 15 2013.

Directed By Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman.

Written By Andy Bellin.

Starring: Amanda Seyfried, Peter Sarsgaard, Sharon Stone, Juno Temple, Adam Brody, James Franco, Robert Patrick, Chris Noth, Hank Azaria, Bobby Cannavale, Debi Mazar, Wes Bentley, and Eric Roberts.

"Lovelace" is based on the true life story about Linda Lovelace, the most famous porn star ever. "Lovelace" is well-made but it's really dark stuff. Linda Lovelace may have been really famous but her life was a complete tragedy because there we're abusive creeps in her life who treated her like a toy.

Amanda Seyfried stars as our main character, she's barely out of teens and is living with her parents in Florida. An Unrecognizable Sharon Stone is dynamite as Linda's mother and Robert Patrick is brilliant in a small role as Linda's father who's a hard-ass police officer. It doesn't take too long for Chuck Traynor (Peter Sarsgaard) to charm Linda into a quick marriage and for now Linda seems pretty happy. After Chuck discovers Linda has... you know a particular set of skills, he sets a meeting with porno filmmakers Butchie Peraino (Bobby Cannavale) and Gerard Damiano (Hank Azaria). After they discover how good Linda is, Butchie, Gerard and with the help of financial backing of Anthony Romano (Chris Noth), filming for "Deep Throat" begins.

With complete astonishment, "Deep Throat" became a phenomenon. It's impossible to know how much "Deep Throat" made, but it claims that it went on to gross six hundred million dollars. What's fascinating is that Lovelace was paid $1,250 and she was offered about twice that to do the sequel, which never happened.

After the success of "Deep Throat", Linda gets physically abused by Chuck and even the sleazy filmmakers are shocked at Chuck's way of treating Linda. Linda could've have a good life but instead she was at the wrong place in the wrong time.

Amanda Seyfried is perfect as Lovelace and Peter Sarsgaard is effective as the abusive Chuck Traynor. "Lovelace" is the kind of movie that you like and appreciate but you will ultimately feel depressed.
