Amanda Seyfried gave a brave performance as Linda Lovelace, only her efforts were squandered by the poor plot and direction. The director has indeed taken the dual narratives to show the exploitation of Chuck Traynor over the poor Linda, but the sappy plot and the piecemeal editing have shattered the tragic overtone.
We try to be sympathetic for Linda, but we just couldn't.
