Review of Love the Coopers (2015) by Jo L — 28 Nov 2015
Christmas movie cliche - dysfunctional family realises in the end that they all love each other anyway and that's all that matters. Unfortunately this movie was a little too heavy on the dysfunctional part and too light on the heartwarming bit.
There were very few characters that were actually likeable, and there were some weird age miscasts going on - Marisa Tomei and Diane Keaton sisters? The 45 year old dad and the 20 year old waitress? Please.
To be fair there were some good moments and some nice Christmas visuals - lights, food, etc. Despite the family friendly PG rating, I'm glad I didn't take my kids to this one - they would have died of boredom.
