Quite wretched. Which isn't a surprise at all. I wasn't so much put off by the very ordinary performances by MacGraw and O'Neal, moreso the fact that it's a nothing film. John Marley is cool, and Ray Milland's OK, but otherwise this thing hasn't aged well.
I'm not so surprised that it was a hit - more surprised that it was showered with love by the Academy. But then, that was the same year that they showered [i]Airport[/i] with love, so I guess I'm not surprised at all.
