A simple story simply told...The movie has good performances...Ali McGraw looks perfect as Jennifer Cavilleri...Although she still looks no different on her death bed (in the movie) than she did when she was healthy (which is a problem!).
..Lovers of the book will enjoy this movie...But the reason I give this one a 4-star rating is not for all this...It is simply because of the haunting musical score of the movie which catapults the movie to a new level altogether.
The score alone is powerful enough to move you to tears in many of the sequences...That in itself is worthy of an additional star in an otherwise somewhat standard romantic movie...Its easily one of the best romantic scores ever written.
