The combination of Doris Day and James Cagney proves to be a winner in this dramatic story based on the life of singer Ruth Etting.
Etting's husband, played by Cagney, is small time mobster who has helped his wife rise to the top. But his abusive ways sends her over the deg and to the bottle.
One of Day's best dramatic roles.
