Review of Love Me If You Dare (2003) by Dave Z — 01 Jun 2010
There are a few movies that I tell people of a certain temperament they should never watch, because it will ruin their lives, usually by introducing a way of thinking that is so dark and twisted, it's best they never hear of it.
This is one of those movies. The character's are interested only in one-up manship between each other, ignoring the wellbeing of the people in their lives, and themselves, in a game where nothing is too cruel, too low, or too emotionally painful to simply say no to.
They have given up the effects of their own human emotion to pursue the feeling of success, even if only from a stupid kid's game. If you're a Godard and/or Bunuel fan, you'll love it. The unititated though, might want to stay away.
