Review of Love Is Strange (2014) by Dave P — 18 Sep 2014
An often rueful meditation on love, aging and financial adversity, there is nothing here but honest and emotionally gratifying performances by every actor in every scene. The beauty of a film that is left partly unpainted so that you can imagine what might go there is such a rare and rewarding treat in a film era where subtlety is often lost.
Both current in subject and timeless in emotion, every character demands your sympathy.
