Review of Love in the Time of Cholera (2007) by Renee R — 10 Jul 2008
A long winded movie that questioned the reliability of the main character. Watching Javier Bardem was interesting, especially after seeing him in No Country For Old Men. At times you felt for him-heartbroken and in love, but at other times his sexual escapades and skewed version of the world clouded the perception.
(spoiler follows) After 2 + hours I was glad too see that one of the lovers didn't die as soon as they finally connected, but damn, if it takes your entire life to end up with the love of your life.
...that's downright depressing.
