Quite an interesting movie - I haven't read the book so can't comment on the adaptation. I liked the pace. although the 'commitment' of the main character to his love is ultimately portrayed as positive, it is certainly obsessive.
that and other things didn't ring true. it looked like it was shaping up to be a tragedy but had a happy ending.
