Review of Love in the Time of Cholera (2007) by Mireya M — 19 Nov 2008
You got to be really, really good to put into film someone like Garcia Marquez. But Mike Newell isn't. He chose to tell the story in English and from the point of view of Florentino Ariza, so leaves a lot of the main issues of the novel out.
The film is just another romantic story of old people in Colombia but does little justice to the book.
