The first 20 mins or so of this movie is completely unengaging. You just don't care. At that point you're mostly watching it for the nude scenes with Anne Hathaway. However, once you except that you have to put up with Jake Gyllenhaal (I almost didn't) and that the editing can get sort of choppy, it gets a lot better.

Still, it really bothers me, because this could have been a really great movie, and it sort of settles for an O.K. movie. The second half was brilliant, so why does the first half suck? My advice? Next time: scrap Gyllenhaal, and make sure you're first half lives up to your second.

I recommend viewing this movie once, but don't expect to want to watch it again.
