Review of Love & Mercy (2015) by Shae S — 07 Jun 2015
Going into this, I was a little apprehensive. I was worried the sequences with John Cusack and Elizabeth Banks would be rife with Hollywood cliche and schmaltz. But I was totally wrong. The two of them gave the best performances in the movie.
The way the film is structured is nearly seamless in trading between the distant past and the more recent past. The emotional buildup and release by the time you reach the end credits was powerful. This film does what a good biopic should do.
