An interesting, if not entirely accurate portrayal of the life of Brian Wilson. The film is free-wheeling and as out there in a way that fits Wilson's life well. By juxtaposing early and later life moments, it ties together an interesting tale that slowly peels back layers of Wilson's life like an onion, slowly.
Both the script and direction are unique, while Dano and Cusak deliver Oscar-worthy performances.
