The focus on two different eras of Brian Wilson made this movie feel odd and disjointed. I thoroughly enjoyed the focus on Wilson's early life, with Paul Dano doing a stellar job in his portrayal of The Beach Boys rise to fame and eventual break-up.
A below average romantic storyline and a poor casting choice in John Cusack, coupled with the disconnect between the two eras on display, left me wanting more from this film.
