Review of Love and Death (2013) by Buddy K — 17 Jul 2009
The best pre-Annie Hall flick from Woody Allen. Here he's transitioning from his slapstick sensibilities into the philosophical and social themes examined in his later works. Over all the marriage of both those styles is pulled off well with lots of great spoofs and references to Russian literature and the films of Ingmar Bergman.
Diane Keaton is also enjoyable in the female lead. Great philosophical comedy with all sorts of Woody Allen's typical humor. Definitely one of my favorite Allen flicks.
