Review of Love & Bananas: An Elephant Story (2018) by Kevin R — 23 Apr 2018
I was lucky enough to be able to see Love & Bananas: An Elephant Story at its world premiere in D.C. as part of the Environmental Film Festival and this is a must-see movie-- for everyone, not just elephant enthusiasts.
This film is an emotional roller coaster in the best possible way. It's an adventure story that educates the audience on all the critical issues affecting the Asian elephant population- and it does so in such a way that provides hope that this incredible species can be saved from extinction if humans act now.
The movie, with the elephants at its center, has the power to convince anyone watching to stand up and do something to help these intelligent, emotionally complex and playful creatures. A focus of the film is the amazing and tireless work of Lek Chailert, her team at Elephant Nature Park and the saddle off program.
If you want to see a true superhero in action, watch Lek and how she is helping to transform the lives of Asian elephants as well as entire communities. I cannot say thank you enough to the amazing team behind Love & Bananas: An Elephant Story for spreading this message throughout the world- it's a critical time for these gentle giants and the world needs to listen.
Go see this movie- you will not regret it. Trunks up!
