Review of Love After Love (2018) by Bizzylorenzo70 — 24 Jul 2018
First time feature director Russell Harbaugh uses a technique of skipping in time during the movie and leaves it to the viewer to figure it all out. I'm not a big fan of that technique, and I believe many viewers will find it a turn-off.
Despite that and the fact that some of the main characters are quite flawed and unlikable, I was able to find enough of interest here to stay with the movie, although normally this type of film would not appeal to me.
I imagine I wanted to see how the angry undercurrents and dysfunction of the family, led by Andie MacDowell, were going to play out. All in all, it can be most difficult to watch but I thought it at least earned a fair rating in my book.
