Irene Dunne was radiant, with an outstanding singing voice and the dramatic and comedic chops of a true Hollywood Star, but she never won an Oscar and has been pretty much forgotten. One of my very favorite actresses.
This is a movie remade twice and paid tribute to (Sleepless in Seattle and many others). 1939 was the best year in film history. Love this movie and miss truely romantic stories.
