Review of Love Aaj Kal (2009) by Ajayesh S — 30 Dec 2009
An amazing flick about love and how our understanding & expression of it has changed over the years. A simple story about two contrasting love stories and change in attitudes, for better or worse. Saif gives an amazing performance, especially in the period section of the flick as a smitten sardar in old dilli.
The period section of the flick and the scenes are outstanding. Rishi is also superb. The songs are rocking, especially "Aaj din chadeyya" -mindblowing, ",Main Kya Hoon" and "Chor Bazaari".
Deepika looks beautiful especially in the credit sequence. The background score is also superb throughout. The only gripe and a major one at that is the scene after Deepika's weddinvg which is beyond absurd and unintentionally hilarious.
The script writer who wrote that should retire. All-in-all highly recommended mature telling of love and how sadly, times have changed far too much.
