Review of Love Aaj Kal (2009) by Rida S — 13 Apr 2010
Didn't know I would have so much to say about this movie. The first time I watched it at the theatre, it was nothing more than three hours of pure entertainment and a feel-good vibe that blankets over you when you step out after watching a good film.
However, when I watched it for the second time , alone, I was a mess..Maybe because I realized how much I could relate to this movie..Some dialogues and sequences left me blank,stunned.. It seemed like they were written for me/ by me.
. No wonder distance makes the heart grow fonder..Love is an emotion beyond description, beyond any dimensions..Its not always the archetype affection that binds a girl and a guy together, its also the love and respect that you feel for them, not wanting them to belong to you but to just be a part of your life.
A beautiful depiction of the void left inside a person when he forces himself to see and believe that everything is going on smooth and he can easily move on with life, not realizing that he is missing out on the most important people or things till their absence leave him miserable.
Looking forward to Imtiaz Ali's next release..The guy truly has a vision.
