Review of Louis C.K.: Hilarious (2010) by Alexander Z — 27 Mar 2011
Hilarious is Louis C.K.'s most professionally done work to date. He's matured as a comedian and has tons of experience under his belt. The belly laughs come fast and hard in this. But something seems to be missing.
While the jokes are there and crafted well, they just don't have the same impact of Shameless and Chewed Up. Like many Louis fans, I waited eagerly for this one, and I ended up being slightly disappointed.
Part of me wishes he'd taken more time to write, and another part of me is glad for what I got and is still eager for more. I still regard Louis C.K. as one of the greatest stand-ups of all time, and he's going to be around for years to come.
