Loved seeing this movie. A bit demoralizing seeing such a great band struggle in the years since. The Pixies are one of the most influential band of the past 30 years - but the success never matched the influence. In the years since they've broken up - they seemed to have flittered - and they need the band, but they don't know how to be a band.
The band you see in this movie is the same band from 12 years ago - not having had the benefit of growing up. It's about the contrast of the unsuccessful Pixies of 1992 disappearing and then reappearing in 2004 as a hugely successful band.
