Review of Lost in Translation (2003) by Cheyne L — 22 May 2013
A cool movie where nothing really happens. These two people meet on a trip in Tokyo, you see over time they do not match with the people they are with but when the two of them meet they form a great bond.
The whole film is just them spending time together and coming closer, either in a friendship way or loving way. It moves pretty quit and Bill Murray brings along some great humor for this film. It doesn't quite end the way you'd hope but that's what makes it so different and cool, it stands alone from others like it.
The movie also made asians out as the stereotypes people came up with, such as them replacing L's with R's when they talk. Wasn't sure if it did it on purpose but it was very clear the actors were pushing that type of talking rather than them just speaking that way naturally.
A very good film about friendship and love and leaves you wondering about people you have met in passings and the memories you form.
