Review of Lost in Translation (2003) by Jordan G — 30 Mar 2014
Love is when the same soul occupies two different bodies. It knows no age, sex, creed, or skin color. It can happen between married strangers alone in a foreign city. This movie owes a lot to the work of Antonioni.
It also bears much resemblance to Linklater's Before Sunrise, which also drew heavily from Antonioni. Bill Murray commands a warm, witty, and always funny performance and Scarlett Johansson is simply stunning.
This film captures a form of intimate communication between two human beings that we all crave.
