Review of Lost in Translation (2003) by George P — 20 Mar 2015
There's so much dreck in this movie, it's hard to know where to begin. First Bill Murray doing take after take of reaction shots fails to use his impeccable comic timing. Second, Scarlett Johansen's take after take of reaction shots fails to in capsular the supposedly hidden depths of her character.
Also, I wish the movie were set in L.A., so the Japanese hotel employees and passerbys were more distinguishable from each other.
