Review of Lost in Translation (2003) by Zachary F — 24 Apr 2015
As I love all travel/road movies - or I will at least watch them, I recently re-watched this again. Not as great as everyone made it out to be but it was a good movie. I think the real story here is the redemption of Sophia Coppola who finally redeemed herself as a writer after nearly ruining Godfather III (which was good apart from her) as an actress.
I could take Scarlett Johansson or leave her regarding this performance. I, however, was a really big fan of Bill Murray's performance as well as Giovanni Ribisi's performance as an aloof photographer.
I could do without the "ending that keeps you guessing" motif (the inaudible whsiper.) It is so tiresome.
