Review of Lost in Space (1998) by Rudy C — 23 Feb 2010
This was a series? Oh well. The series probably was not nearly as bad as this, but it's not like it's very good source material to work with. By the way, why does EVERY SINGLE LOST FAMILY OR PERSON have Robinson in their name? Swiss Family Robinson, Robinson Crusoe, and now Lost in Space? How dreadfully unoriginal (as is most of the movie).
Plus, there's even a crappy, blunt, and completely tactless (kind of like the dialogue) environmentalist message in this one. Not that I mind environmentalist messages (I'm all for saving the Earth and all that), but when you present the idea so poorly, and deal it so heavyhandedly, it's hard to appreciate any good intentions that might have been behind it (if any).
Just don't watch this one. Trust me. If you want a new movie adaptation of an old Sci-Fi series, I suggest you buy Star Trek (2009).
