Review of Lost in La Mancha (2002) by Jer M — 23 Jan 2008
Truly and utterly heartbreaking. Film sets are not usually the most calm of places but Terry Gilliam seems to have some sort of horrible curse attached to him. In this film, you get to watch the horrible ordeal of his destined-to-be-awesome take on Don Quixote fall apart in a spectacular fashion. The movie seems to think that Terry Gilliam's problem is working with and handling money, as he did not, exactly, have enough of it. Some directors can function under tight budgets. Apparently, Gilliam can't.
And with the recent death of the lead in his next film, the curse continues...
