Review of Lost Boys: The Tribe (2008) by Ross M — 07 May 2009
I was pretty disappointed with this, as I love the Lost Boys. I think the main problem with The Tribe is that its trying to be cool, where as the first film just was. Some of the best and possibly more dodgy moments come from Corey Feldman reprising his role as Edgar Frog, there are also a few other nods to the original that are cool, but you donâ??t really care about the main characters, and Angus Sutherland is nowhere as captivating as is his brother Keifer was in the first film.
I think the most interesting thing about the film, which is maybe what it should have revolved around, is this, just as the credits start rolling, it fades back in to Corey Feldman and a brief Cameo From Corey Haim, who played Sam in the original, and who since we last saw him has become a vampire, which is a pretty cool direction to take the story in.
Then if you watch the alternate ending on the DVD, weâ??re told that Edgarâ??s Brother, fellow slayer Alan, has also been turned, and is heading back to â??settle the scoreâ??. But Apparently there is going to be a third instalment, so hopefully theyâ??ll focus on this next time round.
