Review of Lost Boys: The Thirst (2010) by Chinedu O — 01 Jan 2011
An aging and "loser" Corey Feldman gets tasked one last time with killing vampires, this time with emphasis on first rescuing a British Justing Bieber. Corey has help from his gal pal and fellow comic book enthusiast Casey Dolan.
I wanted soooo much to like this movie, because much like other kids of the 80s, I'm such a big fan of the original. However, "The Thirst" was a big letdown. Between the bad acting and delivery, obvious low budget, some bad continuity errors, the glaring plot holes, and some VERY contrived and entirely unnecessary female breast and ass shots, I could barely get through the damn film.
In addition, I really thought that Corey Feldman would have gotten better at acting since 1987. Apparently was wrong, as his deep-throated snarling and sneering proved. Some slightly humorous dialogue was there, and I was hoping that the movie would be self-aware and meta, but that really didn't go anywhere.
Oh well. I guess I'll just go watch the original Lost Boys movie just to remember how fun it was.
