Review of Lorna's Silence (2008) by Joseph S — 26 Aug 2009
Les freres Dardenne deliver another stark, flawless masterpiece. From beginning to end, but more important for days and weeks afterwards, the consequences of the characters' seemingly banal gestures are burned into the mind, mulled over, remembered at the strangest moments.
Still reeling from having endured the gawd-awful mess of Inglorious Basterds, I zoomed over to another theater to see this film immediately afterwards, making this film's strengths more apparent and launching it into my top-10 list for the year.
