Review of Lorenzo's Oil (1992) by Joe H — 25 Jun 2011
Sure it's a drama, but a well done one at that. The overall composition for a film that could have so easily settled as a documentary, overwhelmed me with its use of subtle, indirect-subjective points of view.
No hand-held camera action, just wonderfully sewn together shots with well thought-out cam. angles. Nothing overdone & nothing terribly fancy. Again, all befitting. Btw, the acting is amazing. Nick Nolte was by far my favorite to watch in action.
